"In this world of impersonal contact meaning computers, text messages and voice mail, I want to live with the real beauty of nature each and every day. I had always loved working with our farm animals, albeit a very small farm, when I attended high school in NY and gardening is something I want to pursue on a bigger scale. I dream of managing a small flock of sheep (taking the wool from flock to finish) and maintaining an organic herbal garden and an herb shop and the chance to continue to write on the history and rich culture of the Hudson Valley. Minus the artistic ability, I want to be another Tasha Tudor with a simplistic lifestyle surrounded by the peace and tranquility of the countryside. Sometimes it is a difficult to sit and write when the mountains and meadows call to me. As I travel the roads of Durham and Cornwallville my soul sings and I feel at home. Some day I hope to have that farm. In the meantime I will be working on the sequel to The Savage River Valley."
